The Norseld dual yellow laser is an incredibly fine and precise copper bromide laser beam; it produces 2 wavelengths of light (green and yellow) both working to treat acne (including cystic and nodular types), remove thread (red) veins, reduce the appearance of scars, stretch marks, pigments including melasma and for general facial brightening and rejuvenation.
These 2 unique wavelengths (511nm and 578nm) are capable to reaching the deep dermis of the skin, and absorbed by their pigmented targets without causing any collateral damage to the surrounding skin.
The laser is absorbed by the skin, where the light energy is converted to heat energy ad selectively targets without damaging the surrounding area. Yellow light is absorbed by the haemoglobin in the blood vessel to decrease redness and green light is absorbed by melanin to aid the removal of pigmentation and sunspots.
Norseld dual yellow laser is also very effective in targeting acne, rosacea and pigmentation. As it’s so gentle and precise, it can also be used around the delicate eye area to improve fine lines, puffiness and dark circles while also stimulating collagen production to restore a youthful glow.
If deemed sutiable by Dr. Eileen, dual yellow laser can also be safely combined with a other treatments such as STAR2 (Skin Tightening) and Broadband Light (BBL) for enhanced results.
Depending on the area(s) treated, a whole face treatment takes approximately 30-35 minutes. Unlike most other laser treatments where micro-wounds may be created on the skin surface, Dual Yellow Laser is a gentle laser treatment that does not break the skin.
This makes the treatment comfortable, even without any numbing cream. Furthermore, heat is scattered and dispersed at the skin surface, leading to a vast reduction in discomfort.
The downtime is minimal, if any. Most patients in fact notice that their skin becomes brighter and more radiant after the treatments. For patients with extremely sensitive skin, or if treatment for cystic/nodular acne is rendered, you may experience some mild redness which tends to resolve after a few hours.
Most patients are able to resume their daily activities on the same day.
As with any laser treatments, Dr. Eileen will advise the avoidance of excessive sun exposure after.
